Market share rankings revealed for UK Executive search industry
Market Share Rankings of the leading players in the UK's retained executive search industry have been revealed today (5 July 2010) in the most authoritative report available. Executive Grapevine's UK Retained Executive Search Industry Report 2009/2010 gives a unique insight into what is otherwise an unreported industry. Analysing the market share of UK's most prominent retained search firms and year-on-year trends, the study carries with it the support of the majority of the country's top headhunters.
One of the most significant findings of this year's report is how similar the current list of Top 40 UK Retained Executive Search Firms is relative to last year. Odgers Berndtson retain their place at the top of the table with 7.7% market share calculated by Net Fee Income (NFI), whilst the remainder of the top four remains unchanged with Egon Zehnder, Russell Reynolds and Spencer Stuart holding their respective positions of second, third and fourth. The Korn/Ferry Whitehead Mann merger has helped them to jump one place over Heidrick & Struggles to fifth.
Odgers Berndtson retained by Rio 2016 Olympic Organising Committee
"As Tony Blair was Prime Minister when London bid for the Games, and in the years after they won the vote, it will be very important for us to hear about his views and experiences, particularly on the subject of the post-bidding process," said the Governor of Rio, Sergio Cabral, who is in London with Brazilian Sports Minister Orlando Silva and Organising Committee president Carlos Nuzman for meetings with the London Organising Committee.
Cabral added: "London was our inspiration during the bid."
Nuzman said the Rio team was already drawing on the operation of the London 2012 Organising Committee. "We have been most impressed with the professionalism of the organising committee as they prepare to hold 28 ‘World championships’ at the same time over two weeks.
"We like the way sport is leading the Organising Committee thanks to my friend Sebastian Coe."
Nuzman added that the Rio team were impressed with the method LOCOG used to organise tenders for work, and said that the Rio 2016 would be filling senior positions within its Organising Committee by using the same team of professional ‘headhunters’ - Odgers Berndtson - that London 2012 employed.
